Copa Holandesa, or the Dutch Cup, is the premier knockout football competition in the Netherlands. It was first held in 1898 and is organized by the Royal Dutch Football Association (KNVB). The tournament is open to all professional and amateur clubs in the country.
The Dutch Cup consists of eight rounds, with teams being drawn against each other in a single-elimination format. The winner of the cup gains entry into the UEFA Europa League.
AFC Ajax is the most successful team in the history of the Dutch Cup, having won it 20 times as of 2021. Other notable winners include Feyenoord, PSV Eindhoven, and FC Twente.
The final of the Dutch Cup is traditionally held at the De Kuip stadium in Rotterdam, which has a capacity of over 50,000 spectators. The tournament is widely followed by football fans in the Netherlands and is considered an important competition in Dutch football.
